i'm throwing a spa party for my best friend as a bachelorette party. the spa allows me to bring in food and alcoholic drinks. what is a good ';menu'; for 10 ladies? i don't want to be fancy, but want everything to be good, and kind of light since we'll be at a spa. i was thinking sandwiches, some kind of dip, veggies, mimosas and bellinis, etc. something along those lines. any specific ideas? i'm looking for ';gourmet';, w/o days of preparation since i have a newborn at home and am traveling from out of town.Menu for spa day?
For a spa day you don't want to eat heavy. go with fresh veggies and fruits to snack on. You are spot on with the mimosas and bellinis. Can I come too? Lol. You are a good friend. She is going to appreciate it. Good luck and have fun!Menu for spa day?
stuffed grape leaves, pinwheel sandwiches, mini quiches....make mimosas with pomegranate juice instead of oj
I always serve spinach salad for the ladies get togethers and its a big hit
baby spinich leaves washed and dried
fried bacon pieces (lots of bacon if you please)
large pieces of hard boiled eggs
layer spinich in bowl
top with the bacon, and egg pieces
mix:
evoo
white balsamic vinegar
and hot bacon grease
salt
pepper
drizzle generously over salad, the hot grease adds flavor and just slightly wilts the spinach..........soooooooooo good
with the salad you could serve french onion soup
red wine
garlic toast
all easy to prepare and transport
french onion soup:
slice 10 onions
sautee in butter %26amp; evoo
add 2 boxes beef broth
add 2 bay leaves
simmer 3 hours
top with moterella cheese grated (that way you won't need to stick under broiler, just let the piping hot soup melt the cheese) You can do in crock pot and just tote that to the spa until serving.
-mini samosas, sprill rolls, pakoras, dim sum
-with choice of raita, soy, tamerind or sweet chilli sauces.
-sushi-do veggie and non veggie
-salsa
-nuts, raisins, sultanas, goji berries
-grilled vegetables or avocado slices on bruchettas
chocolate truggles
i don't know if you have the dream kitchen near you but it is where you can buy a quick already prepared meal ready for the oven or table. the name of the store is dream kitchen. They have the mess and you just have to do the final preparation of the meal. I don't know but i think they even can plan a meal for you too. See if there is one in your area. I know there is some grocery stores that would prepare your meal for you too at probably the same cost for you to prepare it. so that is my advice. Good Luck and Best Wishes for your friend's party.
